Language and Laughter
Laughter may not be the best medicine, but it’s probably one of the better ones. If some studies are to be believed, it may be the case that laughter may compare to good diet and regular exercise in keeping people healthy and disease free. If this is the case, it may appeal to some readers as an excellent alternative to expensive gym memberships, investment in neon lycra, and muesli.
Here, the InThinking Language and Literature website presents its own choice of some funnies to procrastinate with when you should really be marking or report writing. Each of the clips – some recent, and some less so – have, as you would expect, a particular language focus. So, whilst the intent is to amuse, teachers are also likely to find something to trigger or include in a lesson.
Folks vary in their taste, and it goes without saying that what is considered funny changes over time and space. There might, then, even be a lesson on context embedded somewhere below. Unlike some other websites, there is no ‘Like’ button to click on with wild abandon, but subscribers are very welcome to suggest their own favo(u)rite funny clips to extend the list.
Do enjoy.
