James Turrel is known as a light artist, but he doesn"t depict light, he makes light. He works his magic in vast shifting rays of natural and colored artificial light that create a contemplative, meditative atmosphere in a specific setting. Granted, he"s not the easist artist for an IB student to emulate, but for any student interested in working with light, even on a small scale, this is an artist worth looking at.
